May 2014 Dividends

Well, my incoming dividends are still quite small but May was higher than the first 4 months of the year.  Again, I’m just getting started and I expect some higher payouts as I add more dividend paying stocks to my portfolio.

LOYAL3 ACCOUNT

– AAPL = $0.06

– HAS = $0.08

– SBUX = $0.03

ROTH IRA

– ATVI = $0.20

– PG = $0.64

Grand Total for May = $1.01

Small return but it is better than nothing.  It just means I have more work to do.

  1. A whole dollar! This is what I love to see. Remember these days, because as time rolls on and you keep adding new capital, dividends rise and you re-invest you’ll see how far you have come from these humble beginnings. Reminds me of my first dividend payments. Keep at it and thanks for sharing. You’ll see those dividends dollars start to compound before you know it.

  2. It is absolutely better than nothing. At least you got the dividend compounding snowball started. That’s the hardest part. Keep at it man, with regular contributions to Loyal3, you’ll be increasing this amount quickly in no time.

  3. The thing is that there is an incalculable difference between nothing (not investing at all) and something – even a penny – because that means you’re investing. You’re already changing the way you think, act, and combat financial dependence. Don’t belittle yourself for only having a $1 in dividends – you’re doing WAY better than the majority of people.

    • I agree with you 100% that something is better than nothing. If all goes as planned, I should break the $10 mark for the month of July. It is encouraging to see how well others are doing out there in blogland.
